5 Tips to make your cat happier

Here are 5 commandments on how to make your cat happier, as laid down by Felinia, queen of the meows!

Love your cat

This is the most obvious and simple and way to make your cat happy. Loving is highly effective. Of course, all of us are in love with our cats, but showing it to them in cat language can be challenging.

As you know, cats do what they want to do. So as cat-pawrents, letting them comfortably enjoy themselves, petting them when they want pettings, and providing them a healthy diet are the easiest things we can do.

Don’t miss Vet visits

This might sound odd, since most cats hate the vet, but a healthy cat is a happy cat! You would be surprised how much pain they can take and never show any particular signs of it, yet their vet can tell if something’s wrong. Our tough little babies won’t like each visit but their well-being is the most important thing in the long run!

A place to watch outside is a must

Providing a place in front of your window is never a bad idea! Cats love watching what’s happening in the neighbourhood. Small animals will still even a well-fed cat’s object of fascination. They can spend hours watching the birds and other small animals outside.

This will keep them occupied and reduce boredom.

They love companions – make your cat happier

Despite being a lot more lower maintenance than most pups, cats still want your love and affection. They may not spend spend all of their time around us, but actually want companionship. Unfortunately though, only some of us are able to stay with our cat for most of the day, and their feeling alone might cause stress and anxiety.

Getting another pet would be a good solution! Having a buddy to run and play with can go a long way in keeping indoor cats happy and stimulated. It’s not always easy for them to get used to a new member in the family, but after a while they often become besties!

Working out the excess energy – make your cat happier

We need to provide enough stimulation at home, since indoors cats won’t be able to run and hunt their prey. Having cat toys around is a must! These help them stay more active and use their excess energy.

After every “hunting” action, you can award them with healthy treats and this will encourage them to stay active. MyMeow boxes provide different toys and healthy&natural treats every month! They also come with a new scratch box each delivery. Cats love scratching, because keeping healthy nails is in their nature.

So having scratch pads around is always a good idea!
