Can a dog see the colors of the rainpaw?
The idea of everything in a dog’s world is black and white was widely accepted for decades. But new researchs about canine anatomy and behavior have shown that dogs can see a wide array of colours. However the range is more like that of a human who has red-green colour blindness.
Dogs see in shades of yellow and blue, and combinations of those colors. This renders a lot of the world grayish-brown. That lush green park they go to everyday probably looks like a field of dead hay. A bright red plush toy? Still funny, but it probably comes across as a dark brown blob to the dog. But this situation do not affect a dog’s sight. In fact, they have more rods in their eyes than humans, which allow for better vision in very low light.
So dogs don’t care about the colour of things, because they have night vision to sneak and steal treats from their WufWuf box in the moon light
